VICTIM FAMILIES

Not a day goes by where you don't think about your family's unsolved case. Let's take a whole month and check-in with law enforcement, review updated investigative options and make sure contact information is updated. Do you know who the lead investigator for your family's case is?

WHAT TO DO

Make contact with the lead investigator for your case. It's ok to ask questions!

Ask about updated evidence testing that could help (ex. DNA, Forensic Genetic Genealogy, Firearms & Fingerprint technologies)

Collect and provide any family/victim photos for law enforcement that they have not already received

Ask law enforcement to confirm ViCAP (for murders) and NamUS (for missing persons) entries are still entered and have updated contacts

Enter the case in the Solve the Case Database

Share the case on social media

Become a Genetic Witness. Providing a DNA sample is a secure way to help law enforcement find suspects and match missing persons to unidentified decedents. Learn more from GEDmatch's Genetic Witness Program and Othram's DNA Solves

By uploading your genealogical data and opting in, you can give law enforcement tools to close cases faster. Get started.
